The readiness score and the gate behind it
The number is a summary of real checks
The score adds up the checks, and it does not replace them. It is also not the thing standing between your site and the web, and nothing inside it is hidden from you.
Open any check and you get a plain explanation of what it looked at, plus a tag naming its basis. That basis is Google Search Essentials, WCAG, a web standard, or the platform's own best practice, so you can see why a number moved.
A critical failure blocks publishing whatever the score says. A site can look healthy overall and still be held back by the one thing that matters.
What the 51 checks cover
The score is grouped into seven categories, and each one groups the checks that tend to fail for the same reason. Together they are what a site is measured on before it goes live.
- Technical health
- Accessibility
- Performance
- Search Essentials alignment
- Structured data
- Content quality
- Security
A template with the town swapped is refused
That count of 51 checks in nine groups is the platform's own figure for its publish check. Your dashboard shows each site's score, and it updates whenever you edit or publish.
Behind the score sits the part most tools skip. Every page goes through the compliance gate — a check that runs before anything publishes.
The platform's page generator refuses pages that are a template with the town swapped, and edits that make pages too alike are refused too. That one design choice is the line between a real page and a template with a place name in it.
How this differs from the free grader
The readiness score runs the full check against the site you actually generated, using the same gate that blocks publishing.
The free Microsite Compliance Grader is lighter and faster, and it gives anyone a first read on a site they already own. It runs before you have built anything here.
If the two seem to disagree, they are not: they check different things at different depths, on purpose. A number you can open into named checks is one you can argue with, and being able to argue with it is what makes it genuinely useful.
