What Google's rules actually say — and why it matters here

Google's Search Essentials are organized into three parts: technical requirements (what's needed for a page to be eligible to appear in search), spam policies (behaviors that get a page or site demoted or removed), and helpful-content guidance (the standard for being genuinely useful). For anyone activating domains, the spam policies are the ones that matter most — specifically the rules on doorway pages, scaled content abuse, and cloaking.

A doorway is a page or set of pages created mainly to funnel visitors to one destination, without standing on its own. Scaled content abuse is producing many pages primarily to game rankings rather than help people. Both describe exactly what a careless portfolio build looks like — and both can trigger a site-wide action. The way to stay clear isn't to avoid building at scale; it's to make sure each page covers something specific enough to stand on its own. Every page here is checked before it publishes, by checks that draw on Google Search Essentials and other public standards and on our own quality rules, and a page that fails a must-pass check does not go live.
