Metadata checks on every page
See what actually shipped, not what you typed
For each page, the screen reads the live title tag, the live meta description and the live headline. That is the same text a search engine reads, and the same text an AI answer engine such as ChatGPT reads.
A checkmark means the field sits inside the length range the gate wants. An amber flag means it falls outside, and it is worth a look.
The value is seeing all three in one column, page by page. A headline and a title tag drift apart over a few edits, and a description written months ago can describe a page that has changed since.
Run down the column once in a while and the whole site stays tidy. It takes about a minute per site.
The screen only measures, so the numbers stay honest
There is no edit box here. Measuring lives on this screen, and editing lives on the Pages screen.
Keeping them apart means one surface always tells you what is really published — not what is sitting half-typed in a form somewhere else.
To fix a flag, open Pages and use Edit copy on that page. Or just ask the assistant to change the title or the description from wherever you happen to be.
Edit your copy in place on the Pages screen
The Pages screen lists every page with its address, word count, FAQ count, headline and page title. Edit copy opens the headline, the supporting line beneath it and the search description.
Leave a field blank and it stays exactly as it is, so nothing gets wiped by an absent-minded save.
Save re-runs the same checks the page was built with. A change that would fail is refused and not saved, because the compliance gate treats an edit exactly like a build.
Fix with AI proposes, and you decide
Next to your headline, lede, answer capsule and description sits a Fix with AI button. It offers a rewrite that meets the requirement for that field.
You see current and proposed side by side, with one line explaining what changed. Then it waits.
Nothing moves until you press Apply, and Apply only fills the editor. Your save still runs the full gate against Google Search Essentials and modern web standards.
It writes only from facts already in your brief. It will not invent a date, a number or a credential to hit a length target, which is what makes it genuinely useful rather than autocomplete.

Frequently asked questions
Can I edit metadata on the Metadata screen?
No, it is read-only. Edit a title or description with Edit copy on the Pages screen, or ask the assistant.
What does the amber flag mean?
That field's length falls outside the range the publish check wants. A checkmark means it sits inside the range.
Does editing a page skip the checks?
No. Save re-runs the same checks the page was built with, and a change that would fail is refused.
Does Fix with AI change my page on its own?
No. It shows a rewrite next to your current text and waits. Applying it only fills the editor.
