Redirect management: what Microsite Generator does instead

There is no redirect manager in Microsite Generator. No rule builder, no 301 table, no bulk mapping screen. A domain you connect here becomes a real place to land, rather than a signpost pointing somewhere else.

Your domain becomes a destination

Forwarding a domain to your main site is the cheapest thing you can do with it, and it is also the thing that makes the domain vanish. The name resolves, the visitor lands somewhere generic, and the asset you paid for shows nothing of its own.

A microsite takes the other road. The domain gets its own pages, written for the business behind it, each one individually built and each one meant to be genuinely useful on its own. See microsites vs. redirects for the long version.

Why the thin catch-and-pass page is the risk

A domain that only forwards is not much of anything, which is at least honest. The pattern that gets punished is the middle ground — a thin page built to catch a search and hand the visitor onward.

The platform's page generator refuses pages that are a template with the town swapped, and edits that make pages too alike are refused too. A page that exists only to pass people along does not publish here.

Connecting a domain takes one record

Go live on a free subdomain, or on your own domain with one CNAME record, and we issue the SSL certificate. That is the whole DNS story.

One record and no redirect layer means nothing to keep up with later. There is no chain to debug, no loop to untangle, and no forgotten rule quietly catching a URL you now care about.

It helps to know what you are not signing up for: you do not move your nameservers, and nothing sits in front of your main site. No other record in your zone changes, and each site you connect is capped by your plan rather than by your appetite for DNS work.

Taking a site down without a redirect

When a site should stop serving, unpublish it: the site leaves the web, and your content and captured leads stay in your account.

Want that domain to do something else? Change it at your registrar. Redirects you already run there, or at your CDN, keep working exactly as they did. We do not hold your DNS.

The design fits in one line: own the destination, and leave the plumbing alone.

Frequently asked questions

Can I create 301 redirects in Microsite Generator?

No. The product has no redirect manager and no rule builder for redirects.

How does my domain reach my microsite then?

You point one CNAME record at the platform, or use the free subdomain, and an SSL certificate is issued for you.

How do I take a live microsite offline?

Unpublish it. The site comes off the web, and your content and captured leads stay in your account.

Will redirects I already run elsewhere still work?

Yes. Redirects set up at your registrar or CDN sit outside the platform and are not affected.
