Create an ActiveCampaign contact from every lead
The contact exists before anyone reads an inbox
Teams who invest in ActiveCampaign build carefully. Tagged contacts, conditional sequences, a clear line between an enquiry and a customer.
Then the website drops enquiries into an inbox, and the whole structure runs a step behind reality.
This connection flips the order. The contact is the first thing that happens, not the last. The record exists while the visitor is still on the page they submitted from.
Everything you set up downstream is keyed off a contact existing — so the earlier that moment lands, the less of your own system sits waiting.
What arrives
A contact carrying the name, email and phone from your form. That is the whole payload, and if that email is already in your account, the contact you have is updated instead of a second one being added.
It is plain on purpose. Guessing at fields you never asked for is how a contact database stops being trusted.
The contact goes straight to ActiveCampaign's own API with your key, so it lands only in your account. Signature headers are carried only by webhook deliveries, where the receiving address has to check who sent the lead.
The same lead can also reach a chat channel or any webhook at the same moment.
What we do not automate for you
We deliver a contact. We do not build your automations, pick your tags, or decide who gets a sequence and who gets a phone call.
Those are judgement calls about your business. They belong to you, and that boundary runs through every connection here. It is the same line on every integration we ship, and it does not move.
So nothing you have already built needs rearranging. Whatever fires on a new contact keeps firing. The only change is where those contacts come from and how fast they show up.
Set it up and check it
Copy the API URL and API key from the Developer section of your ActiveCampaign settings and paste both here. The connection is live. Then click Send test lead and watch a clearly marked test contact appear on the other side.
A minute of checking beats a week of assuming. Test contacts are clearly marked, so they never blend into your real enquiries.
Upstream, the page holding your form was individually built from a conversation about your business. It had to pass the compliance gate first, which is a check that runs before anything publishes.
Pages are checked by checks that draw on Google Search Essentials and other public standards and on our own quality rules. The platform's page generator refuses pages that are a template with the town swapped, and edits that make pages too alike are refused too. Your plan caps how many pages a site can hold, which keeps each one genuinely useful.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a sign-in step?
No. You paste the API URL and API key from your own account, and it works right away.
Does this build automations for me?
No. It creates a contact from the lead. Your tags, sequences and automation logic stay yours.
How do I know the connection is live?
Send test lead delivers one clearly marked test contact, so you can confirm it arrived before real enquiries depend on it.
Can I verify a delivery?
Yes. Send test lead shows ActiveCampaign's answer on screen, and the contact appears in your account. Signature headers are carried only by webhook deliveries, so there is none to check here.
