Custom Services: the optional deeper design service

What Custom Services includes

Custom Services is a set of design tools you add when the standard build is not enough. The standard build still does the ordinary work of making a site from your business facts. Custom Services is for the times you want to choose more of how it looks.

• Design templates. See your own site drawn in each design template, then switch. Switching is free. A build or restyle on a Custom Services template shows its price before it runs.
• Logo and brand kit. A logo mark made from your name, a palette, a font pairing, your favicon and your share image. The page on brand colors, fonts and the logo describes how you preview and save them.
• Custom visuals. A wide banner at its real size, an illustration, or a set of icons, made for your site. Each one is quoted before it runs.
• Custom sections. How it works in steps, your real figures, a checklist of what is included, or a timeline, written in your words. You can ask the assistant for one, for example “add a how-it-works section”. Figures are the ones you give it.
• Match my look. The main colour and type of another site you own. You prove the other site is yours first, and only its design signals are used, not its words or pages.

The lead page layouts are part of Custom Services too: one is included in every account and the other eleven need Custom Services on, along with two extra places for your form. The page on lead page layouts and form places shows all twelve.

It is off until you turn it on

Custom Services is available to every account, and it stays off until you turn it on. Nothing switches it on for you, and a chat message alone does not. You turn it on from a confirmation card, and your yes is recorded, so there is always a record of when you chose it.

Turning it on costs nothing by itself. Your existing pages stay exactly as they are, nothing already built changes, and nothing you have already paid for is billed again. Turning it off stops new design work and leaves everything already made in place.

When Custom Services is off and you ask for something that needs it, the assistant says so plainly and names the feature, rather than doing it anyway.

What you see before anything is built

Custom Services uses more credits than a standard build, and design work is billed at a higher rate than your other usage. You see the estimate before any build runs, and nothing is built until you approve it. The same rule applies to a custom visual and to a page built on a Custom Services layout: you see the quote and say yes first.

Where you find it

With Custom Services on, the Design page shows what you can do next and links straight to your Custom Services home, and the assistant's welcome carries the same link. The Design Studio page, the design studio builds a site from a description, explains the tabs you will be moving between.

What it does not do

• It does not turn itself on, and it is not on by default.
• It does not change pages you have already built.
• It does not use another company's site: Match my look works only with a site you own, and only its colour and type.
• It does not build anything without showing you the estimate and waiting for your yes.
• It does not promise visitors, leads or any search position. It changes how a page looks, not how many people find it.
