Search, menus and getting around

Two kinds of navigation are covered here: how you find your way around the platform, with search, menu icons that show their names and a site picker, and how your visitors find their way around your site, with the top-menu and footer links you choose.

Finding your way around the platform

The platform gives you several ways to reach a screen. This section covers the ones that are about finding things. For the four setup steps at the top of the menu, see the four steps page.

Search your sites and domains

The Classic view has the same search as the rest of the platform. Type to filter your sites and domains, and each site shows its page count and when it was built, so similar names are easy to tell apart. When two of your sites share a name, every list that offers them shows the page count, whether it is a draft or published, its address and when it was built.

The picker at the top of every screen shows your sites and your domains under their own headings, each with its own count. Choosing a specific site or domain from the header dropdown scrolls to that exact one on the list and briefly highlights it. A domain is described as serving your site only when a published site is behind it, and one that is connected with no published site says exactly that. More on domains is on the address page.

Finding a screen in three moves

  1. Look at the menu on the left. Each icon shows its screen's name.
  2. If you do not see it, open the Everything screen, open a group and pick what you need.
  3. Or tell the Growth Agent what you are trying to do and ask where it is.

Icons that show their names

The menu down the left side of the workspace shows each screen's name under its icon, so you can see where everything is without pointing at it. The two longest names appear as BI Intake and Use Claude.

Your sites page and your templates

Your sites page shows your full list of sites right away, with nothing to open first. On the templates page, the template your site uses comes first and is clearly marked, with a button to go straight to editing its pages. On the Metadata screen, a title or description that is flagged as the wrong length links to the edit form for that page on Pages.

The chat panel

However narrow your screen or the chat panel, the close button stays in the top-right corner, and the buttons along the top of the chat move onto their own line when there is not room for everything. The suggested replies under the chat change to fit each page as you move around. If you ask the Growth Agent where something is, it sends you only to screens in your own account.

Classic and Atlas, from every page

The switch between the Classic and Atlas views is on every page, including your Account and Intelligence Center pages in Classic. The design service pages in Classic carry the full top menu. In the agent-led view, opening a site's editor or its compliance scorecard keeps the left rail and your Growth Agent's panel on screen, like every other screen.

Find anything and go straight to it

The Everything screen is three simple steps: open a group, pick what you need, then use its button to go straight to that screen or to ask the agent. You can also search it. The Intelligence Center opens one group at a time in a similar way.

Your site's top menu

Ask the agent to put up to three links of your own in your site's top menu. Each can go to a page on your site or to another site you own. They appear on every page before the Contact button, and you can change or remove them the same way. The agent can also change menu labels.

Footer links you control

You can add up to eight links to your site's footer, each to another page on your own site or to an outside page you own. Set them from your site's edit screen or ask in the conversation. Pages you add to a multi-page site, such as an About, Contact or FAQ page, are linked from every page's footer and appear in the sitemap. See adding pages.

What a visitor sees at a wrong address

Every site you publish has its own not-found page. If a visitor mistypes an address, follows an old link or lands on a page you removed, they see your logo, your navigation and two ways forward: the homepage and your contact section. There is nothing to set up. The page is served with a real not-found status, and search engines are told not to index it.

What it does not do

Frequently asked questions

How do I tell two sites with the same name apart?

Every list that offers them shows the page count, whether each is a draft or published, its address and when it was built.

How many links can I add to my site's top menu?

Up to three. Each can go to a page on your site or to another site you own, and they appear on every page before the Contact button.

How many footer links can I add?

Up to eight, each to another page on your own site or to an outside page you own. Set them from the edit screen or ask in the conversation.

What does a visitor see at a wrong address on my site?

Your logo, your navigation and two ways forward, the homepage and your contact section, instead of a blank error. Search engines are told not to index that page.

Can I switch between Classic and Atlas from any page?

Yes. The switch between the two views is on every page, including your Account and Intelligence Center pages in Classic, so you can move anywhere from any page.
