What your Growth Agent can do for your site
It asks before it changes your website
Before the agent changes anything on your website, it tells you what it will change and waits for your go. One go covers the whole job, however many pages it touches, and you can say what to change first.
The same care applies to short replies. When the agent offers to do something and you say "send it", "do it" or "go ahead", it does that thing. If it offered two different things, it asks you one short question about which. The suggested replies under the chat fill the message box for you, and nothing is sent until you press Send.
What it can read
- Your published sites. When you ask it to look at one of your published sites, on our address or your own domain, it reads the live pages directly.
- Every page, for a word or phrase. It tells you which pages the words appear on and where, so after a site-wide change you can check that nothing was missed.
- A site you already have. Give it the address and ask for a review of the page. It checks the page against the same search and site-quality checks we use on our own work, then tells you what is already right and worth keeping, and what it would fix first.
- A link you mention. If it cannot open a web page, it reads the site through our own servers instead of stopping there, and it tells you plainly if that fails too.
- A file you attached. It keeps a screenshot or file in view for your next two messages, so you do not have to attach it again.
- Past updates. It can look through every update on the what's new list, with the detail of each one, so you can ask what changed since a date.
What it can change
Ask in the conversation and the agent can change the brand color, the font pairing, the page structure, each section's layout and width, the look of the top of the page, spacing, the logo and its size, the hero image or video, menu labels, menu and footer links, the main button's words and where it goes, and the words on any page. You can ask it to add an About page to a multi-page site.
It can also set your page width, add a pricing table or a comparison table using your own figures and words, and turn your site's credit line on or off. Each change runs through the same checks as every other edit before it saves. For changes across several sites, see changing one thing on every site.
It tells you where it stands
- When you and the agent work out a list, such as services, topics or clusters, it says plainly when that list is not yet saved to your business profile. A yes from you saves it in one step. The reminder appears only when it lists items for your business, not after it explains a general topic.
- When it cannot confirm that something was done, it tells you so in place of the claim, so you never read a statement and its correction side by side.
- When you ask it to plan, build, publish, check compliance or work on design, it says straight away that it is taking a more careful pass, so a longer wait comes with an explanation.
- Quote a status line or notice it showed you, and it can tell you what that message means, including wording it used to use.
- It uses the buttons and fields of the page you are on only when your question is about that page.
It points you to your own screens
When you ask where something is, the agent sends you only to screens in your own account, and tells you plainly when a page belongs to our team instead. It also answers questions about the setup steps and the intake button from what is actually on your screen. The page on the four steps describes them.
Your conversation travels with you
If you click to another page while the agent is still answering, the conversation comes with you: your question and everything written so far, marked unfinished. Say "continue" and the agent picks it up from there. For a copy of the whole conversation, see downloads and your site files.
What it does not do
- It does not change your website without your go.
- It does not report a page as read when it could not open it.
- Dragging things around on a live canvas, moving sections on a one-page site, custom CSS, animation controls and an Undo button are not built yet. When you ask for one, the agent says so and offers the nearest thing that works. Rolling back a version is the way back today.
If something you need is missing, send a feature request; a real person reads every one. The page on support and feature requests explains how.
